20 children here participated in each the workshops conducted in the following RWF work areas last years
Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslim children were involved in the activities harmoniously where their hidden talents were discovered.
MPMWR Hopes to conduct a work shop at national level selecting 5 outstanding children from each area. Arrangements have been made to conduct area level work shops in the remaining work areas too, in the near future. |

Last year sum of Rs.309, 600/- has been given to 32 women in RWF work areas for self employment projects, as they had to return suddenly due to various type of harassment at their places of work
A monthly report of the progress of the self employment projects is sent to the head office by each MPMWR activist in the work areas. |

This was held on 11th December 2005 at the Public Library Auditorium Colombo with the participation of 750 including children who submitted winning eatries to the competition and their parents.
It was significant that adult learn about the tragedy after mothers leave the country through the drawings done by children some mothers who wanted to do so changed their minds when realized the effect on children.

The network was formed in 1994 with 31 peoples’ and women’s organization. But now functions with only the active ones Discussing plans and strategies for migrant workers’ issues, having discussions with government officials, submitting petitions and memoranda to the authorities demanding migrant workers’ right as well as protest rallies and demonstrations beneficial policy changes for migrant workers are the main functions of the network. |
